The Korean American Sports National Festival is the largest sports event in the United States for the Korean community and is held every two years. This year, the 20th Festival will be held in Federal Way, Seattle and Tacoma.
As of February 20, the following events are proposed for Federal Way: Opening ceremonies, soccer, softball, taekwondo, ssireum, marathon, sports festival zone, and closing ceremonies.
The Korean American Sports National Festival was first established in 1981 in the city of Los Angeles and has been ongoing for 37 years. At this biennial event, the organization committee cultivates intellect, virtue, mutual respect, and cooperation in the 5,000 Korean American athletes, staff, and observers that attend. Through this sports festival, the organizing committee strives to unify the Korean people by establishing the consciousness and identity of the Korean American community.
